Harrachov is a major centre for winter sports in the Czech Republic. Skiers and snowboarders will appreciate the skiing slopes and two ski lifts to Certova hora (the Devil Mountain). There are also five ski jumps including the world-famous mammoth ski jump Harrachov. The area is also a great place for cross-country skiing fans, who will appreciate over 110 km of well-maintained and marked cross-country skiing trails. For beginners, Harrachov can offer ski and snowboard schools and those who do not own skis or snowboard can use several local rental shops.
In the summer, Harrachov offers many opportunities for active leisure. Hiking and biking lovers can enjoy many hiking and biking trails. The most appealing tourist attraction in Harrachov and a popular destination for many tourists is a waterfall called Mumlavsky vodopad. Other tourist destinations in the area include Krakonosova snidaně, Ruzencina zahradka or Rucicky. For bikers, we recommend one of the easier routes along the river Jizera, which continues to Poland and provides breath-taking views of the Czech side of the Krkonose Mountains. More experienced cyclists can explore the trails leading to one of the surrounding hills. From June to September, buses for cyclers are in operation which can bring you closer to the mountain top or to distant parts of the Krkonose Mountains.

An interesting addition to stay in Harrachov is a visit to the local glass factory, where manual glass production and unique old technologies of grinding are still performed. The area also includes the Museum of Glass, small brewery with a restaurant and a unique beer spa. Another interesting place to visit is the Mining Museum with its underground tunnel, the Ski Museum and the Forestry and Hunting Exhibition Sindelka.
